Last week 4th class put on a brilliant production of well known musical “My Fair Lady” with the help of their teachers Ms. Giblin, Mrs. Collins, Mrs. White and Drama teacher Jamie. The musical is based around the story of Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, so that she may pass as a well born lady. The girls had the audience captivated from start to finish. Go to the gallery to view more photos.

Mrs.White’s class had great fun creating alien creatures. The girls read the poem “The Marróg” by R.C. Scriven and then used this poem as a stimulus for their art creations. Perhaps one of them is the “Marróg from Mars” sitting at the back of the class. We hope you like them! Click here to view more.

On Tuesday, well known Irish author Roddy Doyle visited our school while he was here in Drogheda to conclude the Drogheda Reads Roddy Doyle Project. Our school was his first stop of the day where he was interviewed by LMFM before entering the hall for some more serious questions from one girl from each class. He talked to us about the inspiration for his books and characters, his favourite books and how long it takes him to write a book. Roddy then read an extract from “The Giggler Treatment” which was a real treat for everyone.

The Green schools committee visited Cavan Hill water treatment plant in Dundalk on January 25th where they were given a very informative talk by site engineer, Dermot Baxter. The girls found out how water is treated before being pumped to our homes. We will soon be having an assessment visit from An Taisce to see if we have earned our third Green flag for water conservation.
